INDIANAPOLIS -- The National Dart Association's membership has approved a 2-gram increase in the allowable weight of soft-tip darts used for its tournaments. As of June 1, NDA-sanctioned players may use 20-gram darts in the association's regional, junior and international tournaments.
The change, which was discussed and voted on at the association's annual membership meeting, was proposed in response to player and operator feedback concerning NDA rules of play. It applies only to NDA tournaments; operators may still determine what weight of darts may be used for local league and tournament play. NDA advised players also to check the regulations of their state tournaments.
Sponsored by the Amusement and Music Operators Association (West Dundee, IL) and the world's leading manufacturers of electronic dart games, NDA is an international trade association representing some 250 operator members and a global player base of 45,000 darters.
