According to NKR, the ride ushers in an era of new technology and operator features that make the kiddie ride business profitable and enjoyable.

Kiddie ride operation is a specialized business that has been around for a long time, because the rides themselves last for a long time. The new Sugar piece continues this tradition. It has been designed to withstand the rigors and resist the wear of high-volume play. Its gel-coated fiberglass body is fabricated to retain its attractive appearance for many years. Captive bearings, brass bushings and hanger bearings, all with Zerk fittings, speed and simplify lubrication.

NKR was founded a year and a half ago by former street operator A.J. Kress as a spinoff of Benchmark Games (Hypoluxo, FL), an amusement equipment manufacturer. Kress said he started the company as a response to a lack of new kiddie rides in the United States.
