NDA says its regionals provide more chances to win than any other tournament

INDIANAPOLIS -- The AMOA-National Dart Association is bringing back its regional coin-op electronic dart tournament series. The next NDA Regional Tournament begins in the fall and includes a fourth stop, compared with last season's three-event program.

Three regional tournaments have been set, with another location being finalized. They are:

» Phoenix, Nov. 20-22, 2015
» Indianapolis, Dec. 4-6, 2015
» Rockford, IL, Jan. 8-10, 2016

Dates and a location in the Upper Midwest will be announced in the near future. Any NDA-sanctioned player can participate in these events.

NDA said it created the regional program to provide a fun and affordable way for players to gain competition experience and get local value out of their NDA-sanctioned status. Classified by skill rating, NDA tournaments provide a competitive experience in which players have better chances of winning regardless of their levels. Last year's program had more than 300 winners.

The tournament is open to a sanctioned player who participated in 48 games for an NDA operator in the qualifying period. Each tournament features Open Singles 501, Open Singles Cricket, Open Doubles Cricket, Open Doubles '01 and Mixed Triples Combo.

NDA said there are no geographic restrictions to participate in the regionals, but players should sign up through their sponsor operators.

NDA has some 250 members, most of them amusement vending operators, and sanctions about 45,000 players worldwide. The NDA was formed by and for coin machine operators to promote the sport of electronic darting exclusively on operator-owned equipment. The NDA is sponsored by the Amusement and Music Operators Association (AMOA) and board manufacturers Arachnid Inc., Cyberdine d.o.o., Gaelco Darts S.L. and NSM-Löwen Entertainment.

The association's 30th anniversary Team Dart world championship matches take place from May 1 through 9 at Bally's Las Vegas.
