Today is National Coffee Day and many chains are handing out freebies to help java drinkers celebrate the occasion.
Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free medium cup of hot or iced dark roast coffee at participating locations with a limit of one per guest. Peet's Coffee & Tea is rewarding coffee drinkers with a free small cup of Peet's Major Dickason's Blend with any purchase of a baked good, oatmeal or fresh food item. Wawa customers get a free coffee in the size of their choice.
Starbucks isn't giving out free coffee, but it's using the day to launch a yearlong effort to donate 70¢ -- the price of one coffee tree -- to coffee farmers for every bag of coffee purchased in U.S. stores. It's kicking off the program by giving away one million trees.
On the heels of National Coffee Day on Thursday, Oct. 1, will be the International Coffee Organization's first-ever International Coffee Day. | READ MORE
