National Beverage reports sales, earnings gains for Q3 2021, boosted by LaCroix

National Beverage Corp. reported $245.9 million in net sales for Q3 2021, a 10%gain over $222.8 million for Q3 2020, according to a press release.

Net income jumped 38% from $26.5 million for Q3 3020 to $37 million for Q3 2021, ending on Jan. 30, 2021.

Basic earnings per share rose from 29 cents for Q3 2020 to 39 cents for Q3 2021, while diluted earnings per share rose from 28 cents in Q3 2020 to 39 cents in Q3 2021..

Sales for the 12-month period ending Jan. 25, 2020 rose from $997.9 million to $1.07 billion for the 12 months ending Ja. 30, 2021.

Net income rose from $119.9 million in the 12 months ending Jan. 25, 2020 to $171.2 million for the 12 months ending Jan. 30, 2021.

Basic earnings per share rose from $1.29 for the 12 months ending Jan. 25, 2020 to $1.84 for the 12 months ending Jan. 30, 2021, while diluted earnings per share rose $1.29 for the 12 months ending Jan. 25, 2020 to $1.83 for the 12 months ending Jan. 30, 2021.

The quarterly revenue of $245.9 million beat analyst expectations by $2.9 million, and GAAP EPS of 39 cents beat expectations by 2 cents, according to Seeking Alpha.

Shares traded at $50.71 Friday against a 52-week range of $17 to $98.22.

"In addition to being our all-time best winter quarter, our third quarter was our fifth consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue and profit growth," an unnamed company spokesperson said in a press release. "Led by LaCroix sparkling water, our Power+ portfolio volume grew 14%, and all our other major brands posted volume increases. As a result of pandemic related measures, more consumers were introduced to the great tasting innocence of LaCroix, and we believe many of these new 'converts' will remain loyal fans long after the stay-at-home lifestyle wanes.
