The National Automatic Merchandising Association has urged the Department of Energy to reconsider proposed energy efficiency standards for commercial refrigeration equipment, including bottle coolers, according to the NAMA weekly legislative roundup.
During a recent hearing, NAMA urged the department to discard the proposed standards or adjust them to more realistic levels. NAMA will submit written comments to further express its position.
The proposed standards would "substantially increase" the energy efficiency requirements for commercial refrigeration equipment, which NAMA claims would increase costs for manufacturers and customers.
