The National Automatic Merchandising Association filed opposition to proposed changes to the government's energy conservation standards for commercial refrigeration equipment, the association said in its weekly roundup.
NAMA filed its responses to the U.S. Department of Energy.
The proposed changes will lower energy conservation standards for equipment used by vending and micro market machine operators, according to NAMA.
The association also said the proposal is not consistent with current manufacturing standards, and the reduction targets are not consistent with the existing timeline for transition from hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants.
