As states have begun vaccinating people for COVID-19, the National Automatic Merchandising Association has advised members that convenience services employees will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccines under Phase 1B of the Centers for Disease Control guidance, behind healthcare workers, the elderly and vulnerable populations at highest risk, according to a press release.

NAMA has developed several resources to help members be prepared when employees are eligible for vaccines.

The association's COVID Vaccine Deployment Tracker provides updated information regarding each state's draft vaccine plan, phases and eligibility, and how to schedule a vaccination.

NAMA has also developed a sample letter template for members to use as proof of eligibility for front-line workers. Members are encouraged to print the letter and other documents for route drivers, warehouse workers and other employees to have on hand when heading to the vaccination site.

Proof of eligibility documents include a sample vaccination eligibility letter, NAMA's critical infrastructure operator certification letter and the Department of Homeland Security memorandum deeming the industry as essential.
