NAMA objects to proposed energy efficiency standards for cold drink machines

The National Automatic Merchandising Association has asked the Department of Energy to reconsider a proposed plan that would raise energy efficiency standards for refrigerated beverage machines, according to the NAMA weekly roundup.

NAMA submitted public comments urging Congress to ask the department to adjust or discard the proposed energy efficiency levels for bottled or canned beverage machines.

The proposed rule could increase the cost of a machine by $1,000, according to NAMA.
