Morehead State University installs vending machine for hair, hygiene products

Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky has installed a vending machine stocked with hair and hygiene products, according to a Morehead State University news report.

The vending machine is part of the Living Curls College Beauty Supply initiative that aims to bring essential beauty and wellness products to college campuses. While Living Curls operates on four college campuses, Morehead State is the first public university installing the vending machine.

"As an African American student here in Eastern Kentucky, it was always a struggle to take care of my hair when I couldn't find the products locally," Taunya Jones, MSU's special events planning manager, told the news outlet.

"A year ago, I came across an article in the Lexington Herald-Leader about Melanie Day and her Hair Care Machine at Transylvania University. From that day on I have been working to get her here on Morehead State's campus."
