SEARCH TERMMondelÄ"z International and Vendors Exchange International Inc. are teaming up at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow to spotlight the expanded range of interactive vending experiences now offered by MondelÄ"z's Diji-Touch platform. NAMA's annual trade show will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 22 through 24.

The original Diji-Touch machine was unveiled by Kraft Vending & OCS at NAMA's 2009 Spring Expo. Incorporating an eye-catching 46" flat-panel touchscreen instead of the traditional window, it presented vivid images of the products it vended, in true perspective, and invited patrons to rotate those images in three dimensions to read ingredient and nutritional labels. The touchscreen interface offered many customization options to operators and a variety of engaging activities to patrons.

Now being deployed nationwide are two large-screen Diji-Touch models. They combine the LCD touchscreen with a Microsoft Kinect motion sensor, cellular network connection and a powerful computer. Diji-Touch allows brands to engage with consumers in an entirely new way. Interactive ads, gesture-based gaming, sampling programs, social media interactions and real-time content updates are just the beginning, according to the manufacturer. The platform also allows consumers to get a comprehensive look at the vendible products by providing 360° views of 3D package shots, as well as nutritional information for every item on the menu.

Based on consumer and operator interest, Deerfield, IL-based MondelÄ"z and Cleveland-based Vendors Exchange have added a third Diji-Touch option: an 8" touchscreen. This screen can be attached to existing glassfront machines to provide many of the same benefits, including 3D package illustrations, nutritional information and advertising content.

Both the Diji-Touch machines and other venders fitted with the smaller 8" device can be linked to an adjacent machine to enable a purchase of a snack and a refrigerated item in a single transaction.

The Diji-Touch platform is designed to provide many benefits to operators. It's engineered to deliver an interactive vending experience and advertising simultaneously, and the operator receives a portion of the ad revenue generated.

All Diji-Touch options employ the same content management system, which allows operators to remotely access real-time sales data, view and update pricing, monitor demographic data and view machine alerts.

Information about the Diji-Touch line and its new-age spin on vending may be requested from MondelÄ"z International at (973) 760-9684, or by visiting diji-touch.com.
