BLOOMINGTON, MN -- The Minnesota Operators of Music and Amusements has awarded three scholarships for the coming school year. The 2015 winners are Logan Gerdes, sponsored by Games Unlimited (Milbank, SD), $1,000; Molly Moriarty of Aitkin, MN, sponsored by Hazelwood Corp. (Aitkin, MN), $1,000; and Dave Fiedler, sponsored by American Amusement Arcades (Minneapolis), $500.
MOMA has been granting scholarships since 1991 to deserving students, the children of industry members or league participants, who wish to pursue higher education. Over the ensuing 24 years, the association has awarded scholarships worth more than $100,000. Recipients can apply the funds to books, tuition or housing.
MOMA represents the amusement and music industry in Minnesota. It sponsors statewide pool and dart leagues through which thousands of players compete each week on teams in leagues organized and promoted by its members.
