Mars unveils Halloween pack for people, pets

Mars Inc. has introduced a limited-edition Halloween offering called the Mars Tails & Treating Packs, which include both human candy and pet treats, according to a press release. The product is in response to a recent survey that found approximately 43% of U.S. pet owners plan to involve their pets in Halloween festivities this year.

The packs contain popular Mars candies like M&M'S, Snickers and Skittles, along with pet treats from brands such as Greenies, Pedigree and Temptations. The candy and pet treats are packaged in separate containers. Each pack also includes a recipe for a "Spooky Seven Layer Dip."

"As a family-owned company, at Mars we know holidays mean more when we can celebrate together," Tim LeBel, chief Halloween officer and president of sales at Mars Wrigley North America, said in the release.

The Mars Tails & Treating Packs are available now for $10.31 (a nod to October 31) on the company's website, while supplies last. In celebration of the launch, Mars is donating $10,000 to the Pedigree Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping adoptable dogs find loving homes.
