Mars to buy Hotel Chocolat Group for $664M

Mars Inc. has agreed to buy the U.K's Hotel Chocolat Group PLC for £534 million ($664 million) and plans to expand the brand internationally.

The cash offer represents a premium of 170% to Hotel Chocolat's Wednesday closing price.

Angus Thirwell and Peter Harris launched Hotel Chocolat to sell mints and expanded to offering gourmet chocolates and running cafes.

Hotel Chocolat also owns the Rabot estate and cocoa plantation on Saint Lucia.
