Man finds rare $1 bill in vending machine

A lucky Parkersburg, West Virginia man recently stumbled upon a rare find while collecting money from his vending machines.

Calvin Westfall discovered a $1 bill with the serial number G00000001I, making it the first bill printed in its series, according to a Parkersburg News and Sentinel report.

Local collectors and experts estimate the bill's value to be significant, particularly if it were uncirculated. While the bill Westfall found had been in circulation, its unique serial number still adds substantial value.

Westfall, who has a passion for collecting coins and paper money, plans to keep the rare bill for his daughter, according to the news report. He hopes to instill a similar interest in her, encouraging her to explore the world of collectibles.
