Maines Paper & Food Service files for bankruptcy

Maines Paper & Food Service Inc., based in Binghamton, New York based broadline foodservice distributor, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday, following layoffs, according to a pressconnects.com report.

The 101-year-old, family-owned company, with $3.5 billion in annual sales, was the largest privately held business based in the Binghamton, New York region and the 132nd largest in the nation in 2018, according to Forbes.
