Asia Pioneer Entertainment Ltd., a gaming machine provider in Macau, plans to deploy vending machines throughout Macau to supplement its core gaming business in response to COVID-19 related losses, according a letter from Allen Huie, chairman and executive director.
The machines will offer snacks and soft drinks and later expand to travel gifts and household items. The company has ordered 15 vending machines, signed agreements with product suppliers and begun seeking locations.
"Smart vending" is an underserved market in Macau SAR, and is particularly relevant in a post-COVID-19 environment, the chairman stated. The vending operations will mainly target tourists as well as residents of Macau.
The company plans to launch trial of vending operations during the first half of 2021 before a more robust roll-out.
