BATON ROUGE, LA -- Gov. John Bel Edwards has issued an executive order for the planning and implementation of nutritional standards for products that can be vended on property owned or leased by the state of Louisiana. The required standard is to include a requirement for nutritional labeling.
Executive Order 17-15 directs the state's Division of Administration to develop and implement a standard for "healthier" foods and beverages in vending machines on state property. DOA is to complete the standard by Jan. 1, 2018; to promulgate the necessary policy by March 1; and to implement it by July 1.
