Los Angeles mall vending machine offers free pet treats

Pet owners visiting the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles between now and Dec. 24 can grab dog or cat treats for free by answering a few questions at a vending machine that determine which treat Purina recommends, according to a press release.

Once the pet owner answers a few questions on the touchscreen, the machine dispenses a treat to match the pet's personality from an array of brands including Beggin', Prime or Dentalife treats for dogs, or Fancy Feast Savory Treats or Friskies Party Mix for cats.

Purina encourages pet owners to post a photo of their pet enjoying their treat on social channels using #PurinaSeasonsTreatings. Purina will feature some of the photos on the brands' social media channels throughout the holidays.

The machine is close to Westfield Century City's Holiday Market, which includes photos with Santa, an ice skating skate-up bar and hourly snowfall.
