Lolo Inc., a sister company that markets coin-operated kiddie rides, is part of the new management team's acquisition.
"We're an old company with new management," Kubik said. "We're going to continue the legacy and pursue the next outstanding redemption games we can find and produce."
According to Kubik, Bromley will be releasing two to four games a year. "Our motto has always been 'Bringing Fun Into the World' -- and we'll strive to live up to that," he said.
Lauran Bromley founded the eponymous company in 1989. It earned kudos for such innovations as reengineering classic games for the emerging redemption market. Bromley is a third-generation member of the amusement industry. Her grandfather, Irving, was an early distributor of coin-op devices, while her father, Martin, is one of the founders of Sega.
Under her management, Bromley Inc. marketed more than two dozen amusement machines, from skill-stop and quick-coin equipment to skill cranes and sports games. Colorama was one of its biggest hits, and remains a main attraction at family entertainment centers around the world.
For the time being, the new Bromley organization will continue to operate in its present 5,000-sq.ft. plant at 422 Crossen Ave., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007; tel. (847) 509-0240.
