Liverpool to get world's 1st mince pie vending machine

Iceland Foods is set to unveil the world's first mince pie vending machine on Dec. 5, according to an Explore Liverpool Report.

The machine, located outside the supermarket's Liverpool store, will dispense free mince pies to celebrate Iceland's mince pies receiving Santa's official seal of approval.

Liverpool, known as the "mince pie capital of the U.K.," will have a limited-time opportunity to enjoy free traditional mince pies and festive variations like cheesy Cathedral City, caramel crumble and chocolate caramel crumble.

Shoppers on Dec. 5 will also have a chance to win a £250 ($316.32) Christmas shopping spree or £10 ($12.60) shopping vouchers.

Iceland's Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Dhaliwal, expressed excitement about bringing festive cheer to Liverpool with the vending machine.

"The people of Liverpool have spoken, and we thought they deserved some festive cheer in the form of free mince pies from the world's first mince pie vending machine!" Dhaliwal told the news outlet.
