Japanese beverage manufacturing and distribution firm Lifedrink plans to establish a wholly owned subsidiary, LD Vending Co., as part of its strategy to expand into the vending machine business, according to a report at TipRanks.

The initiative is intended to create a new direct sales channel for soft drinks and support the company's broader "Max Sales" strategy aimed at strengthening its market position.

The new subsidiary will be based in Osaka and is scheduled to be established on March 31, 2026. LD Vending will focus on selling beverages and food products as well as maintaining its vending machines.

Additionally, Lifedrink plans to acquire the vending machine business of food and beverage company Pokka Sapporo, according a Meyka.com report, including approximately 40,000 machines and about 300 employees, with the transaction expected to close around October. The acquisition represents a major expansion of its vending operations and provides nationwide access to key sales locations such as offices, factories and transportation hubs.

Lifedrink believes its scale and integrated production-and-sales model will allow it to operate the expanded network more efficiently than smaller operators. The company expects the acquisition to strengthen its long-term competitiveness in beverage distribution while creating opportunities to improve performance across the vending channel.
