Lebanon Family Health Services in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, launched a 24/7 self-service health kiosk, located outside their Cumberland Street facility. The kiosk, operational for approximately 10 months prior to the formal unveiling, offers free and anonymous access to a range of medical supplies, including Narcan, fentanyl testing strips, COVID-19 tests, menstrual products, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, condoms and STI testing kits, according to a Lebtown report.
"The kiosk is designed to serve individuals with both privacy and convenience ... It's also about helping to reduce barriers to care when you need it, and the kiosk aims to do that," Kimberly Kreider Umble, LFHS president told the news outlet.
Funded by a grant from the Family Health Council, the kiosk is part of a pilot program, with Lebanon being one of two locations in Pennsylvania to implement this initiative. While most products are provided anonymously, demographic data is requested for items other than Narcan. Early data indicates that the majority of users have been women, with a significant portion being uninsured. The most frequently accessed items have been condoms, pregnancy tests and emergency contraception.
