Consumers who purchased Keurig K-cup coffee pods in recent years have until today to claim cash from a court settlement, according to an abc7.com report.
Persons who bought the pods labeled "recyclable" between June 8, 2016 and Aug. 8, 2022 can submit claims to the website or mail claims to receive between $5 to $36, depending on proof of purchase.
For claim filing information, they can visit https://www.kcupsrecyclingsettlement.com/DynamicForms2/1526/Form/2193f03d-2598-4508-ad5e-b548f1bdcc15, according to the report.
A class action lawsuit in 2018 claimed the pods were not recyclable as labeled in a meaningful way.
The company agreed last year to pay $10 million to settle the class action lawsuit and change its labeling to acknowledge that K-cups are "not recycled in all communities."
Keurig told ABC News it stood by its original package wording and that it clearly communicated how to recycle K-cup pods where accepted. The company modified its package language.
