Kraft Heinz to build $400M Illinois distribution center, create 150 jobs

The Kraft Heinz Co. will invest more than $400 million to build a 775,000-square-foot distribution center in DeKalb, Illinois, one of the largest automated CPG distribution centers in North America, according to a press release.

The facility will have national railway access, enabling greater supply chain efficiencies to distribute its products to retail and foodservice customers.

The facility is expected to bring more than 150 jobs to the region.

The facility's design includes a 24/7 automated storage and retrieval system distributing more than 60% of the company's foodservice business and approximately 30% of its dry goods.
