Emart24, a South Korea convenience store chain, has introduced an artificial intelligence-based alcohol vending machine in Seoul that would support its fully unmanned operation of convenience stores, according to a report in The Korea Herald.
Customers use a mobile app to scan a QR code to verify their age before making purchases.
Payment is deducted after the customer takes the beverage and closes the door.
Another Korean c-store chain announced a similar machine last week.
