The Kern Literacy Council has made a significant donation to California's Kern County Department of Human Services' Children's Visitation Center. A book vending machine will be installed at the center, providing free books to children during their visits, according to a KGET report.
The initiative aims to foster a love of reading, strengthen family bonds and support the Department of Human Services' mission of enriching the lives of local children and families.
"We are grateful to the Kern Literacy Council for this generous contribution," a department representative told the news outlet. "This collaboration will have a positive impact on the children and families we serve."
