J&J Snack Foods opens Texas distribution center

J&J Snack Foods Corp. opened its first owned distribution center in Terrell, Texas, according to a bakingbusiness.com report. The 117,000-square-foot facility is the first of three, with two more opening in the coming months.
The center can hold 11,000 pallet positions for frozen food storage, including a "box-in-a-box" -45° F portion for 350 pallets of Dippin' Dots beaded ice cream.
The facility also has 22 dock doors to keep a temperature of 36° F for shipping Superpretzel soft pretzel products and frozen products from the Churros, ICEE, PhillySwirl, Luigi's Real Italian Ice, ¡Hola! and Whole Fruit brands. Other products include handheld sandwiches, cookies, funnel cakes and pies.
