Japanese vending machines are known for diverse offerings, but canned ramen has always fallen short, using konjac noodles instead of the real deal. Now, Maruyama Seimen has changed the game with the first-ever canned ramen featuring actual wheat noodles, according to a Japan Today report.

The product, available in select locations in Japan, boasts a flavorful soy sauce broth, authentic toppings like green onions and chashu pork, and piping hot serving temperatures. While pricier than typical vending machine fare, the unique manufacturing process ensures the noodles retain their firmness and deliver a satisfying ramen experience.

This innovation from Maruyama Seimen, a veteran noodle manufacturer, comes as the industry faces challenges. The company hopes this product will revitalize the market.
