A Japanese reporter gave a glowing review to canned vended coffee from Blue Bottle Coffee, the Oakland, California-based coffee chain with stores in the U.S., Japan and Korea, according to a soranews24.com report.
The veteran reporter, who goes by "Mr. Sato," was surprised that Blue Bottle Coffee branded machines were selling coffee cans for $6.08 in a parking lot in Shibuya, Japan. But after sampling the coffee, he said it was the most delicious canned coffee he ever tasted.
While not yet widespread in the U.S., canned coffee is popular in Japan, where it is frequently offered in vending machines.
The U.S. based chain has 18 stores in Japan and two vending machines.
The coffee, in an 8-ounce can, has an expiration date of one month.
