The Ulster Farmers' Union in Ireland has launched a new on-farm milk vending machine map as part of its Februdairy campaign, according to a report at the London-based publication Farming Life.
The map makes it easier for consumers to locate farms offering fresh, locally produced milk. The initiative highlights the innovations of dairy farmers while encouraging people to support local agriculture, reduce food miles and promote sustainable, family-run farming operations.
Ulster is one of the four historic provinces of Ireland, located in the northern part of the island. It includes territory in both U.K. and the Republic of Ireland.
The UFU expressed appreciation for the strong response from farming families and communities who contributed location information for the map. The resource will be continuously updated, and the organization encourages the public to submit any additional locations and use the map to find nearby milk vending machines and support the dairy sector.
