Investment firm acquires VRstudios technology and product portfolio

FOD Capital LLC, a Key West, Florida-based investment fund and the majority shareholder of VRstudios Inc., has acquired the virtual reality provider's technology and product portfolio, according to a press release.

The acquisition includes VRstudios' Attraction Management Platform software, ATOM and FLEX multiplayer free-roaming systems as well as its game titles built for out-of-home VR attractions.

Under this new structure, the business model will shift from channel and direct sales to an invitation for strategic partners to license or acquire the technology and products to add branded VR attractions and content to their portfolio or as a baseline to accelerate new product development.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
