Vending and amusement industry veteran Byron Howard of the Shaffer Distributing Co. has announced his retirement after 40 years, according to a press release. He has most recently been serving as general manager in the Detroit office of Shaffer Distributing Co., and will retire in early 2022.

After short stints with a few local operators, Howard joined Cleveland Coin, a Cleveland equipment distributor, and became the branch manager of its Detroit office in 1994. Shaffer Distributing acquired Cleveland Coin in 2005, at which time Howard was overseeing both distribution lines in Michigan in addition to management of the Detroit office.
