Industry Recognition Continues With Illinois Vending Day Proclamation

CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association announced continued recognition for the industry, as the State of Illinois offered a formal proclamation in honor of National Vending Day, inaugurated this year on March 7.
 
"We are thankful to the elected leaders of Illinois for recognizing the convenience services industry," said NAMA senior vice-president of external affairs Eric Dell. "The vending and convenience services industry employs nearly 7,000 residents and generates economic output of over $1.2 billion in the state of Illinois and we agree this is worth celebrating."
 
To mark this day, NAMA showcased the U.S. convenience services industry and its total economic impact of nearly $25 billion. NAMA emphasized that the industry, provides 140,000 good paying jobs with $7.21 billion in wages and pays $3.5 billion taxes at every level of government.
