Industry loses ‘Bob' Born of Just Born Quality Confections

Ira "Bob" Born, the former president of Just Born Quality Confections in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and the son of company founder Sam Born, has passed away, according to a report in the Leigh Valley News. He was 98.

Born mechanized the process to create Peeps candy which earned him the title, "Father of Peeps."

He also created the recipe for Hot Tamales candies.
