Industry loses Alberto Zamperla

Alberto Zamperla, president of The Zamperla Group, has passed away, according to a Brooklynreporter.com report. He was 71.

The Zamperla family developed Coney Island's Luna Park through its company, Central Amusement International Inc., a New York City-based amusement park planner, developer and operator.

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions inducted Zamperla into its Hall of Fame in 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Paola, sons Antonio, Alessandro and Adriano, and three grandchildren.
