In a move toward workplace inclusivity, India's Odisha state government has installed sanitary napkin vending and disposal machines in the Loka Seva Bhawan building, according to a Times of India report.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the facilities, which aim to enhance hygiene and support women employees.
"This initiative reflects our government's commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive workplace," Parida told the news outlet.
The government plans to expand these facilities to all women's restrooms in the building. Additionally, a surprise inspection of the building's crèche facility revealed a need for expanded facilities, which are currently being considered.
