India's Northeast Frontier Railway commissions ticket vending machines

The Northeast Frontier Railway in India has commissioned 21 automatic ticket vending machines. The machines have been placed in 15 railways stations under the Alipurduar division, according to a report in The Telegraph.

The ticket vending machines have been functioning since Nov. 17 and promote digital ticketing, which should each crowding at the counters.

"The facility is expected to reduce waiting time at traditional booking counters, particularly during peak hours," an NFR official told the news outlet.
