As reported byATM Marketplace, the Department of Homeland Security recently put out an Advisory indicating that ATM field workers qualify as "Essential Critical Service Workforce." To ensure that ATM field personnel can deliver and maintain equipment during the health crisis, DHS suggested that workers carry a copy of theCISA guidelinesin their vehicles to present to authorities if needed, especially when traveling in designated "hot spots" for the coronavirus.
Despite the DHS designation of which industry it considered essential, state and local governments do have the right to deem what workers they consider essential during the pandemic. Workers should review theStates and Cities Stay at Home Pronouncements, theNational Governors Associationlist of COVID-19 state actions, and theNational Conference of State Legislaturesactions on COVID-19 to be informed on any restrictions in the areas they service.
