Illycaffè introduces coffee machines for compostable paper pod format

Illycaffè, a provider of coffee and coffee equipment, announced that the brand's "easy" machine and the X1 Anniversary E.S.E. & Ground espresso machine are available in the U.S. on illy.com and other retailers, according to a press release.

This machine offers new ways to enjoy espresso via industrially compostable "easy serving espresso" pods, a single-serve format with a dose of coffee between two layers of paper filters.

The new X1 Anniversary E.S.E. & Ground machine has the versatility of two different brewing options in one machine. The machine is able to brew using either traditional ground coffee or E.S.E. pods, while the eco mode fast-heating technology offers near-instant brewing for both energy savings and convenience. The machine features a stainless-steel body, backlit water tank and ergonomic handle for ease of use.

The new illy easy (ESE) espresso machine allows users to adjust the machine's temperature and volume setting and features automatic power-down and compostable pods.
