LAS VEGAS -- AVT Inc. said its new Social Cause-Driven Automated Systems were used by IBM at the technology multinational's recent Interconnect 2015 conference in Las Vegas.
Corona, CA-based AVT said it designed the machines for IBM to reward participants for filling bags with food for the less fortunate. After completing the service, they were given a card with a UPC code that could be scanned by special readers built into the AVT machines. The machines recognized the code and dispensed a "thank you for your service" gift to the conference participant.
AVT said it not only supplied the machines for the event, which reportedly drew 20,000 participants, but also provided the manpower. Its employees helped direct participants to the venders, which were located throughout the conference area, and provided assistance to keep the crowd in queue moving smoothly.
