INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Amusement and Music Operators Association said it has formed the IAMOA Gaming Committee to collaborate with its new lobbyist and coalition partners to advance the legalization of video gaming terminals in Indiana.

Committee members include Tim Dwyer, Shaffer Distributing Co.; Brian Austin, J&J Ventures/Kentuckiana Vendors; Doug Diltz, Diltz & Sons LLP; Steve Lyons, Jefferson County Amusement; and Jeff Reed, BJ Novelty Inc. IAMOA said these members possess "board and national leadership experience."

The committee will represent IAMOA's interests by keeping the association at the forefront of the political dialogue about legalized gaming. It will set the lobbying agenda, participate in political and local fundraising events, advise the IAMOA board of directors on gaming related expenditures, and represent the association and amusement industry in meetings.

Last year, the group appointed Bill Smythe, a former IAMOA board member and president, as its lobbyist. He has 20 years' experience in the restaurant, bar and gaming industries.
