Hong Kong harbourfront now home to smart vending machines

Six smart vending machines have been installed along the Wan Chai harbourfront in Hong Kong, according to an rthk.hk report. The vending machines dispense ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy and drinks between 7am and 11pm.

The vending machines are part of an ongoing initiative to introduce food and beverages as well as retail and entertainment services at high-traffic harbourfront locations.

"During the soft launch period, we will monitor the visitor flow and see if there is anything that we can do better elsewhere along the harbour," Development Bureau's Senior Engineer Phoebe Wu told the news outlet.
