The owner of a Hollywood, California, apartment complex, Sentral at Inspire Hollywood, has applied for a permit to install two vending machines offering alcoholic beverages in "club rooms" on the fourth and eighth floors, according to a CityWatch report.
A city planning meeting was held on the proposal earlier this month and the zoning administrator is awaiting comments.
The city's department of public health has submitted a paper on alcohol outlet density and alcohol related consequences recommending that alcohol outlet density be limited.
Cities and communities with a high density of off-premises alcohol outlets were more than twice as likely to have alcohol-involved vehicle crashes than those with a low density of off-premises alcohol outlets, the paper noted, along with other statistics.
