Hero Zone VR, a provider of location-based virtual reality entertainment, has acquired the Spree Interactive free-roam system. The acquisition follows Spree Interactive's recent administration and is aimed at ensuring the continuity of its VR platform, which is specifically designed for children under ten years old, according to a press release.
The purchase safeguards investments made by operators, many of whom are located in trampoline parks such as Urban Air Adventure Parks, and allows them to continue offering immersive entertainment to their guests.
The integration of Spree's system and game library into Hero Zone's platform will expand its global network to over 500 venues. This move allows Hero Zone to provide a wider range of content, from Spree's family-friendly mini-games to its own blockbuster titles like the upcoming "Terminator: Uprising."
"This acquisition allows us to serve every demographic in a way no other LBVR provider can," Aziza Jarnija, co-founder and sales director for Hero Zone VR, said in the release. "From young children to seasoned gamers, we now offer something for everyone, further cementing our position as the industry leader."
The acquisition provides operators with a single platform that can cater to various audiences, from birthday parties and school groups to experienced gamers, potentially increasing repeat visits, according to the press release.
