Heinz launched a vending machine in The Netherlands that allows hamburger-lovers to trade out their unwanted pickle slices for pickle-flavored ketchup, according to an LIA Global Sponsor report.

The report found that nearly 1 in 4 Dutch adults like the taste of pickles, but the their texture deters them, causing them to remove the pickle slices from their hamburgers. As a response Heinz created the pickle-flavored ketchup to allow these customers the acidity and sour taste of the pickle without the texture.

"With Heinz Pickle Switch, the Dutch can swap their pickle slices on a burger for a free bottle of Heinz Tomato Ketchup Pickle Flavour," Mirthe Enklaar, senior brand manager at Heinz, told the news outlet.

"Whether people are put off by the texture of [pickles], Heinz's Pickle Switch allows the pickle-curious to enjoy all the benefits of the amazing zingy taste, without the perceived downsides of the small but mighty pickle."
