Heinz is launching a temporary sandwich vending concept in London's Soho district to mark National Picnic Week, offering freshly made sandwiches for the equivalent of about 73 cents each, according to a 365 Retail report.

The two-day pop-up, called the Heinz Mayo AutoMayoMat, will operate June 17-18 at 15 Bateman Street and is expected to distribute more than 800 sandwiches through a retro-style automated vending setup inspired by classic European automats and Japanese convenience stores. Each sandwich will feature Heinz mayonnaise.

The sandwiches are being supplied by Sandwich Sandwich and will include options such as a chicken Kyiv-inspired sandwich and a traditional egg mayo offering. Visitors will also receive a personalized lunchbox, a tote bag and a bottle of Heinz mayonnaise with their purchase. Heinz said the activation is intended to encourage consumers to take proper lunch breaks and reconnect with outdoor dining and picnic culture amid growing concerns about workers skipping meals or eating at their desks.
