BROADSTAIRS, England -- Harry Levy Amusement Contractors Ltd. said that it has closed on its purchase of Crown Leisure Ltd. from Cuerden Leisure Ltd. Crown Leisure, which has offices in Wigan, England, and Galashiels, Scotland, will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Harry Levy Amusement Contractors.
Crown Leisure, led by managing director Dean Harding, is one of the UK's largest distributors of gaming and coin-op amusement games. Crown operates adult gaming arcades and family entertainment centers located in holiday parks and seafront locations across the UK.
"I would like to thank Cuerden Leisure and Hemway for the last 12 years that I have had the pleasure of working for them," Harding said. "During that time the market has changed enormously, and while there have been some challenging times, the support from Hemway and the Hemming's family has always been superb."
Founded three decades ago, Harry Levy is an internationally renowned manufacturer and supplier of amusement and redemption games. Its specialty is the coin pusher.
"We have worked with Crown as a customer for many years," said founder Harry Levy. "During this time we have grown to respect their collective knowledge, ability to market and sell games, and the outstanding quality and high standard of their machine operation. When the opportunity arose to acquire Crown, it didn't take any time for us to make a decision."
