Grupo Bimbo invests in superfood company LiveKua

Grupo Bimbo, the Mexico based global snack manufacturer, has led a Series A round of funding in LiveKua, an Ecuador based superfood manufacturer, with participation from SOSV and Amadeo. Grupo Bimbo, owner of over 100 brands including Sara Lee and Thomas' English Muffins, will partner with LiveKuna on superfood innovations and support its plans to expand distribution in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, according to a press release.

LiveKuna works directly with nearly 500 environmentally-friendly farmers from their home country to source chia and quinoa. LiveKuna's products include gluten-free flours, pastas, cereals, seeds and grains in addition to its superfood snacks KunaPops.
