GrubMarket, a leading company in the food supply chain and e-commerce industry, has introduced an AI agent designed to automate business insights for food wholesale and distribution businesses. The Reporting AI Agent is the third such tool to join the company's GrubAssist AI platform, following agents for orders and inventory management, according to a press release.

The agent is built to address the challenge of extracting timely, actionable data from complex enterprise resource planning systems. It automates reporting, delivering daily, weekly or monthly insights directly to decision-makers via email with attached charts and spreadsheets. According to the company, this automation saves managers significant time and provides enhanced visibility into operations, which can help protect profit margins. The Reporting AI Agent uses what GrubMarket calls a "Food Supply Chain Industry Knowledge Graph," which allows it to understand industry-specific terminology and nuances when fulfilling reporting tasks. The system can also integrate with third-party business intelligence applications.

A key benefit of the system is empowering business leaders to be proactive rather than reactive.

"With the Reporting AI Agent, we are empowering food wholesalers and distributors to be proactive, not reactive," Mike Xu, founder and CEO of GrubMarket, said in the release. "By automating AI-powered reporting and embedding deep food supply chain industry knowledge into our AI Agent, we are giving business leaders a powerful tool to improve their decision-making, efficiency and profitability. This is something this industry has never been able to benefit from before."
